The Product & Marketing team is looking for a talented Graphic Designer to design world-class designs. You'll be working with a world-class global team of product-people, marketers and fellow graphic and UX designers, who will collaboratively help you create the high-impact visuals we need, across the entire visual array of collateral we need. Hard requirements:

KYT: Know Your Tools.
In business, a designer is measured by the outcome of his creative mind, created with the tools at his disposal. That said, we believe in equipping all employees with the best tools for them to do their job, and whether you’re comfortable with Adobe, GIMP, Corel or want to try new design upstarts like Affinity – we’re open to getting you any tool you need to do your job.

Independent and self-driven.
We’re by and large a company of techies. If you need to be surrounded exclusively by like-minded creatives, to exercise and apply your own creative juices, then this isn’t the place for you. That said, the growing marketing and product team (there’s 4 of us now, with headcount for 8) understand, and are practiced in different domains of design too (you’re not alone).

Ability to distill technical briefs into creative concepts, and enhance it.
You’ll not be designing everyday posters and banners for the lay-man. You’ll be working on designs that help us communicate complex and technical concepts, into design that is clear and easy to understand. This means you’ll have to fundamentally understand our product and the technologies that power it, in order to design something that effectively conveys that information.

Does not see rejection as an insult or setback.
We believe design is a collaborative journey, and this means input from key stakeholders to refine a design is part and parcel of the job. You should never see additional input as an insult to your design process, and instead see it as collaborative input to make the end design more universally understood. We are a company that would value quality over speed, if we had to choose one (this makes it great for your design perfectionists out there!).

Creative, but logical.
Creativity does not mean all rules go out the window. Rather, you should be able to break design moulds while confirming to logical design rules that should be applied when necessary.


Bonus or soft requirements:

Design thinking.
Design thinking is the cognitive, strategic and practical process in which design concepts are developed by designers. This means you approach every problem thinking of ways to design around it. Design thinkers inherently believe that the world’s problems can be solved by good design, and such thinkers always seek to create value and solve problems.

A keen and observant eye.
Misalignment. Colour shifts. Errors in design or briefs. You should be able to catch mistakes and flag it accordingly (and apply solutions if necessary).

You should be your own worst critic.
We design for multiple types of audiences and profiles, many of whom will not see or perceive your design the same way you do. You need to be able to take a step back on your own, and qualitatively analyse where you’ve designed in the clearest way possible, not just for yourself, but your intended viewer.

What exactly you’ll be doing

Designing key graphics for AnyConnect.
A large part of your time would be spent working with product managers, marketers and fellow designers, to design graphical elements to be used as design assets for the company (graphical assets for the website, an ad banner, print collateral, presentations, videos, and more). You’ll need to create new assets from scratch, or adapt and update existing ones. We have a brand guideline that’s an evolving item, and you’ll need to keep the existing colour logic in mind when designing anything and everything, for brand consistency.

Layout & Mock-ups.
At times, you’ll be asked to mock-up or wireframe new planned pages and designs, for newly planned collateral that needs to be pushed out. With this, you’ll have to consider key elements of the design process such as UI, UX and branding in order to come up with the best graphical structure to present our information.

We are working on creating original corporate assets and icons, and design templates that can be accessible through a digital archive of all past work. You’ll play a hand in creating all future icons in use within the company, and the proper upload and documentation of them.
